Zoya Nail Polish SunShine Summer 2011 Collection

Zoya Sunshine Collection-Summer 2011

I was looking for the best buys in nail color yesterday and I came across this really exciting
collection of colors from Zoya. The Zoya Sunshine collection for 2011 is truly sensational and will
suit all your moods. So bright are the colors and so lively that if you like painting your nails well,
you will find them difficult to ignore!

zoya-sun-shine-nail-polish-rica

Let me tell you, this spectrum of six sparkles don’t fail in terms of shine and variety. The Reva
is a bright pink with a hint of red. Like a strawberry kissed by a rose! Kimmy is warm red with a
hint of orange. Apple is an enticingly sassy green. The gold sparkle adds spirit to it.

If you are a fashion aesthetic and want a single color that’s both chic and tantalizing, go for
Tanzy. The gold asserts itself more passionately in this burning shade of orange and will make
you look mysteriously alluring. Likewise, in Rica the brightness of red that’s popping out in
Kimmy recedes, allowing the gold to take over. Faye is a richly intense deep prune purple,
surprisingly not as glittery as the others. I feel it looks more dreamy and playful than the reds.

Unlike most sparkles I found these pleasantly uniform in application. They were thicker and took
longer to dry. But the wait is worth it! The shine is exuberantly sun kissed and you can forget
about reapplying nail color for a minimum three days! Of course, you will need to use the brush
steadily so that the undertone of gold also spreads well. I suggest three coats that will get you the
best of these colors.

So order your own personal pack containing all six shades and go pamper your nails this
summer!

Essie Resort Nail Polish 2011 Collection

Essie Resort collection 2011

Planning to go hopping around the world and get that relaxation that you have been vying for
since weeks? Don’t go alone. As you pack your bags and plan your trip, do remember to carry
a few off-the-routine nail colors to get into the groove of just letting go! Wear the party on your
finger nails and make your vacation a nail adventure!

I strongly recommend the Essie Resort Collection. Really, Essie has done it again! Definitely
a cool array of nail colors to choose from, this year’s collection brings forth some interesting
shades. I hear the hues have drawn inspiration from South Africa. Needless to say, the wild and
flirtatious names that the colors have will swing you through a getaway of fun and adventure!

Of these four shades, I tried the Essie Fair Game first. It applied perfectly to my fingernails and left
them looking psychedelic! I have to say the metallic touch to this earthier version of stone grey
flaunts that coquettish mood in you. A two coat finish is all you need.

All colors spread well, are easy to remove and don’t leave a trace on the fingernail. So if you
want to switch from the boldness of Fair Game to a prettier, Your Hut or Mine it takes only
minutes! This one is deliciously pink and looks good anytime, anywhere. A classier variation
in pink is Lion Around that swings towards peach. Expect a lacquered touch that roars out for
attention in the crowd.

Tropical is the word for Da Bush, that, I found is the most intriguing of the lot. A super diluted
shade of sage green, a two coat will give your nails exactly the same look as in the bottle. So
what are you waiting for! Order your four piece cube having each of these delectable colors
today. You can also go for the 12 bottle designer display if you want to share the pack and get
value for money!

Essie Fall 2011 Collection

Essie Fall 2011 Collection

The only reason the coming fall could be quiet and boring for you is if you miss out on Essie’s
fall collection-2011
. Essie has boldly taken inspiration from the handbag designs and textures so
much in vogue during the 40’s and 50’s, really a tribute to the woman who takes pride to dress
up, and live like a lady. The colors will make you want to brush up your nails with the 40’s feel,
and match them with your own attire.

Essie Nail Polish Power Clutch
Essie Nail Polish Very Structured

I found ‘Brand new bag’- the collection, is awesome. Perfect for fall! But honestly, at first I did
think, uh oh! Dull, too heavy, even their names. But no!! Not these shades!

From the rusted orange appeal of Very Structured to the pale camel Case Study, every hue is
actually a wow! I completely flipped over Power Clutch and Glamour Purse. The first one
looks deep grey but not so. As I laid the coats on, a very prominent moss-green hue peeped out.
It’s a color you gotta see for yourself. Glamour Purse is quite an interesting shade of burnt taupe
that oozes warmth with a detached feel.

I have to say here that I found the fall shades walking the line between hot and cool. Essie gets
downright girly with Lady Like and manages to throw bolder and deeper surprises like the
merlot Carry On. What better to color your nails with, than the defining essence of your most
important accessory? Just bag ‘em up, I’d say!!

Zoya Mirrors Collection Fall 2011

Author: Samantha

Zoya Mirrors Collection Fall 2011

I was sifting through the shades and color themes by different nail color companies for fall this year, and I came across the mirror collection by Zoya. Must say, I was color zapped to awed silence!! Giving softer shades, nudes and crèmes a distinctive brush, Zoya has got Fall peppy with a bang! The trendy shades are baked in the smooth magnetism of metallic shimmer making these six shades set a very buyable and wearable collection. I would say on the count of ten for classic appeal, the mirror collection loses none. It is really an all year wear.

Warm tones and strong color lines so reflective in the color line-up get the most prominent in Jem. The plum red has purple undertones to it and glitters in gold and pink glamour. The color is so pigmented you’ll get enough coverage in two coats, but be careful to avoid signs of brush stroking.

Three shades- Nimue, Marinaand Tao have a silvery touch, two others, Yara and Neeka are imbued in gold. I got a fairly deep purple-mauve finish in Nimue, and a gunmetal grey smoothness in Tao. Marina is strongly blue-grey. All three are medium bright and very cool.

Yara is the only green of the Mirror Collection, and is an olive green that’s allows only a sneak peek at gold and green glitter for a more colored and less metallic look. Neeka also goes gold shimmered on a tangy red hue.

The colors are thinner in consistency but coverage is fine in two to three coats. I’m all set to get hold of Jem, Tao and Marina…what about you?!

Essie Nail Polish – Too Too Hot

Author: Samantha

Too Too Hot

I’m really not a red nail color person. Reds look too openly bright to me, but I have gone completely gaga over the new red that’s part of Essie Braziliant Summer 2011 Collection.  Too Too Hot is really a cute hottie! It’s a red-orange hybrid that kills with a sizzle. You can get all the pinks and blues and oranges you want for your nails this season, but without a sun soaked red like this one, your color palette would be drained of the look you want!

Although I am sold on the look of this color, I’ll talk about the quality first. Essie Too Too Hot is both creamy and opaque with an orange highlight. The vibrant nail color spreads a bit too fast as it’s quite thin in texture. But it surprisingly spreads over the nail very evenly, and starts drying up for a smooth finish in minutes. So with two coats, the result you’ll get is good enough to wear for a week. Needless to say, a good base coat and top coat should not be forgotten.

Unlike most reds that are dark, seductive and a bit ‘been around’ type, Too Too Hot speaks of freshness and a demure boldness that is difficult to brush aside. There is a pearl-like undertone to it that adds to the look. And, like most bright nail colors, Too Too Hot will flourish well over your toe-nails. So you can pick up this lovely nail color from Essie now and head home to give your fingernails a nice nail treatment before painting them red!

Essie Nail Polish – Super Bossa Nova

Author: Samantha

Super Bossa Nova

Pink freaks, attention! Essie Braziliant Collection for 2011 is here and comes laced with a pink that beats most of the bright hues in nail color this season.  Super Bossa Nova is surely the star of Essie’s collection. A cheerful pink that comes with a royal shine, this dazzling fuchsia will explode in your fingernails, and lend you with a dazzling but cool look to wear through any kind of occasion.

The shade is really about energy-in the essence of its color and its finish. The starry shimmer matches the boldness of this pink creating a glamorous effect. Wear it to a party and watch everyone gravitate towards you! Better still, it will reflect the sun perfectly if you wear it to a beach trip.

Further on, I found the application really silky and smooth. The nail color spreads nicely over the fingernail and doesn’t leave any goops or lumps. I have to say, Essie has topped quality pigmentation with consistent smoothness that goes well with the shade.  I applied a single coat and it looked as good as a double coater. But then I tried a thin first coat along with a steady second one and the color looked real intense! If you want to go all the way with the gloss, use the top coat at the last.

Like most Essie nail colors of the collection, Essie Super Bossa Nova dries pretty quickly and stays steady so you can go about doing your daily chores within minutes of applying and depend on it surviving longer than most nail lacquers.

Essie Nail Polish Smooth Sailing

Author: Samantha

Smooth Sailing

Sail through the waves of this cool looking shade is ideal for wearing through the summer. Smooth Sailing is a brilliantly eye-catching blue with a swish of purple and silver. Part of the just-released Essie’s Braziliant Summer 2011 Collection, this really hot blue is now available in the market.

You will not regret getting this one. There is so much mystery and adventure in this nail color. Like the flickering waves in the sea, you will notice ever so tiny flecks of green and purple in the shade. And like the blinding rays of sun reflecting from the water, you will find a muted touch of glitter too.  I would wear Smooth Sailing with a nice beige or white dress for good effect. You can try it with a pastel pink or even lavender for that matter.  Try it on with a long black dress, and get the seductive look going!

It was very easy for me to apply the nail color and it dried quite fast, giving a very polished look to the fingernails.  Two coats and that’s all that’s needed to get the best output from the shade. Reinforce it with a top coat if you like, but I would suggest, go solo on the color only.

What I like about Essie Smooth Sailing is the delicate balance between shimmer and gloss. The color has managed to harness the feel of summer maneuvering the looks of your fingernails to a soothing finish with a warm and endearing texture.  So race along and get Smooth Sailing!

Essie Nail Polish – Meet Me at Sunset

Author: Samantha

Meet Me at Sunset

Meet me at sunset is the second orange in Essie’s Braziliant Summer 2011 Collection and like the first one- Braziliant, it does do the theme of summer full justice!  I mean, if you try this tomato tinged orange nail color, you will know what I am talking about.

Meet Me At Sunset - Essie Nail Polish

Great Color for Baking in the Sun with that polka-dot bikini

Orange nail color shades are really rocking on the popularity chart this summer and most orange shades released by different brands are selling off the counter fast. But one reason why you should grab a bottle or two of Essie’s Meet Me at Sunset is that this particular orange is a lovely creamy and dreamy bright hue that encapsulates the vibrancy of summer all the way without being too bright. Meet Me at Sunset has liveliness, it has warmth and it has a presence of its own that’s just too cool!

Compared to Braziliant it’s a more muted orange. In fact I found the color much gentler to the eye, though still quite bright and peppy. You will admire your nails with Meet Me At Sunset on, but this shade needs very patient application as you might find it a tad streaky around the edges. Careful is all you need to be. Once you let the first two coats flow, go uniform with the third one and you will have an unbeatable finish to flaunt!

The nail color is hardly glossy. In fact, it’s quite opaque which is a good thing as you will find most bright nail colors usually come with shine or luster. Not this one. This comes with a soothing vigor of summer that will keep your mood upbeat long after the sun sets!

XOXO

Sammie
